As others mention, the conservatory is perfect for sitting gazing... read more out at the gorgeous views of the Summer Isles..and it’s heated so even when the suns not out it’s lovely and toasty! The house is lovely- super comfy beds and very clean and tidy. This is literally the best dog friendly place we’ve stayed in. Apart from friendly touches like the dog bowls, you wouldn’t know dogs had been there, it’s that tidy!!

Linda had left some delicious home made jam and shortbread and the worlds best Easter Brownies - which were perfect energy replacements on the local walks!

The location is about 10 min walk from Auchiltibuie, Where there is a Shop and a nice hotel for food. For lunches in the piping cafe are great and again very dog friendly.

The cottage has everything you would need in the kitchen, soap, big fluffy towels and great views from all rooms!

Nearby behind the cottage is a lovely walk up Fairie hill, and we really enjoyed Inverkirkcaig waterfalls and the fantastic Stac Pollaidh.

The cottage is beautifully appointed, tastefully furnished; and we found the extra touches (roses, candles...) really contributed to our overall 5* experience. The cottage is set in a secluded garden, in a fine setting, with stunning sea views. We ate both nights in Am Fuaran; and as always received a warm welcome, and enjoyed delicious fresh sea food. We'll be back staying in The Gables for a week in April; and we are looking forward to that already! Thank you, Linda.

If you contact the locale store in Achilitibuie, which we did, they can arrange to deliver food before you arrive - and it... read more was so nice to come to the end of our drive up and find the wine chilling in the fridge and the shelves full of local produce.

In terms of 21st C appliances each room has ample power sockets so there's no fighting over who gets to recharge what first as can happen on holidays! Internet was faster than expected for the area, and the cottage is well covered by wifi though in the farthest bedroom from the router the signal does drop a bit in strength. Television picture too was clear, and used occasionally when the weather obscured the view from the windows out across the bay.

Central heating throughout so no matter the winds blowing outside the interior remains comfortable. There's a great view covering a few of the Summer Isles and the building itself is distant enough from the nearest neighbour for the quiet only to be broken by sheep and cows in the nearby fields.
